We’ve all heard the saying that a good leader ‘knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way’.
This standard focuses very much on the leadership of your organisation showing a consistent approach to encouraging employee wellbeing. It will ask you to ensure you have fully assessed your needs and priorities around health and work.
- Be clear of your responsibility under the Equality Act 2010 and other equality legislation.
- Provide evidence of an effective communication policy or procedure that tackles bullying, harassment and disciplinary procedures.
- It will help you consider whether managers understand the main issues that impact on the health and wellbeing of their team.
It will look at whether employees are offered learning and development opportunities to maximise their potential.
There is a natural progression and Level 1 is often a good place to start, but you may be ready to go for Level 2 or Level 3 on each of the eight standards.
